The Soothing Strings is a band made up of two sisters who have talents in violin and cello. Jocelyn Cribbs, a rising Junior at Cumberland Valley High School, has a deep passion for music and has been playing the violin for the past seven years. Her sister, Evelyn Cribbs, a rising 8th grader at Mountain View Middle School, shares a similar passion and has diligently learned cello for the past four years.

Inspired by their mom, Kit Lu, an oncologist who helps hundreds of patients a year, Jocelyn and Evelyn wanted to help and connect with their community through local workshops and performances. Additionally, they combine their interests in science and music by supporting charities like the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and are planning to conduct workshops that demonstrate the science within music.
